Judges 9:11-12 (Break the Cycle)

Break The Cycle

The Lord replied, “Did I not rescue you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines, the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites? When they oppressed you, you cried out to me for help, and I rescued you. (Judges 9:11-12)

Read: Judges 9:22-10:18, Luke 24:13-53, Psalm 100:1-5, Proverbs 14:11-12

Read: Judges 6:1-40, Luke 22:54-23:12, Psalm 95:1-96:13, Proverbs 14:5-6

Relate: “God, if _______ happens then I will do _______.” Fill in the blanks and you will have a very common prayer throughout my younger years. I had a “this for that” relationship with God. The problem is, even if the “this” actually did happen, I would immediately create another “this” so that I could get out of doing my “that”. Call it fear, call it doubt, call it insecurity… whatever it was, I didn’t really want to do what God was laying on my heart but I did need a good excuse…
