O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations. By your strong arm, you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (Psalm 77:13-15)

Relate: In 1915 a diminutive little man with a soft voice, a gentle spirit, and an iron will moved back to his homeland after spending two decades fighting for Indian civil rights in South Africa. Within five years time, he became the most influential man in Congress. A decade after that, India declared their independence from the British Empire, arguably the strongest nation in the world. Britain refused to acknowledge this declaration and what had been a growing confrontation turned into the most unique civil war in history. Only one side fought… and they lost.
